Peer feedback and evaluation

Creating captivating and impactful content requires a combination of creativity, research, and a keen eye for detail. However, people can often seem to forget the importance of feedback and the role it plays in elevating the quality of content that you’re producing. Hence, for this week’s blog post, I will be diving straight into what I’ve learnt from my fellow peers, and how it has enabled me to become better and self-evaluate myself and my content in the process.

Examining the work of my peers has definitely taught me a few things, it’s provided me with fresh new perspectives and insights that might have been previously overlooked. It’s also opened me up to some new niches that I actually find quite interesting.

Overall, having to give feedback to my fellow bcm241 peers has made me feel more confident when providing feedback to others. Additionally, constructive feedback doesn’t necessarily have to come across as mean or harsh, but rather help identify weak points in content and offers actionable suggestions for improvement, which is ultimately what everyone wants. This has helped me to overcome that ‘fear’ factor and has definitely taught me to be more honest in my feedback.

Exploring my peer’s pitch blog posts has demonstrated different angles of approach to my assessment. One particular element is the ‘ethical considerations’ that I perhaps should’ve touched on more when outlining the Wim Hof Method. For instance, maybe talked about the risks involved when jumping into an ice bath, and how it should gradually be achieved with process and time. This is something I will look at more in the future.

It has also shown me that I should undertake more autoethnography research. Although this was touched on in my pitch, I perhaps didn’t break down the concept as much as I should’ve, which is what my peer’s content has taught me. In the future, I will hence be discussing more autoethnographic research approaches.

Overall, peer evaluation has helped me embrace feedback and help provide insightful information among me and my peers. By learning off others’ content will help me improve throughout the course of this semester, and ultimately hopefully form a connection and impression on the audience I am writing to.
